The Japan Traditional Craft Revitalization Contest – Ronnie Prize
Application Guidelines
We are looking for artisans, producers, artists, designers artists, who have a project idea to revitalize Japanese traditional craft.
The applicants must be fluent in Japanese both in writing and speaking, and have an intention to stay in Japan to revitalize the genre of craft in Japan.
Prize and Awards
Ronnie Prize 1 person (or group): The fund of 5 million yen and special support for a year. The 5 million yen will be given not all at once, but in phases, based upon the discussion with JC21.
Craft Leader Awards: Up to the 10 finalists, including Ronnie Prize winner, are designated as Craft Leaders. The Craft Leaders are given a chance to attend quarterly meetings for a support to realize their project ideas. We have a budget of 5 million yen for the support.
